About

Nestled in the quiet bushlands of South-Western Queensland, Injune is a thriving township with a population of some 450 people. Follow the Great Inland Way to Injune, or travel approximately 700 kilometres along the Warrego and Carnarvon Highways from Brisbane.

Behind the façade of a quiet little country town lies a strong community. The fair dinkum characters of Injune are untouched by the bustle of modern life. Discover our best asset of the town, our people.

Industry booms in Injune and the surrounding areas. Beef cattle production has been a staple industry of the area since the early days. Additionally, the timber industry provides important employment for many with two mills producing cypress pine and exporting to the world. In recent times, oil and gas production have become important to the area; Injune has become a major base pumping supplies all around the state.

Injune receives summer rainfall, therefore summers are hot. Average temperatures during summer months are in the mid 30’s. Winters are dry and cold at night with morning frosts not uncommon. To experience the real beauty of the area, ideally plan your Injune holiday during the winter months.

Injune is situated at the foothills of the Carnarvon Ranges; a part of the Great Dividing Range. From Injune, there is easy access to four national parks; Mt Moffatt, Carnarvon Gorge, Lonesome, and Beilba.

With all there is to see, and a diverse and plentiful range of Accommodation, why not stay and live a truly unforgettable experience. Enjoy country hospitality when you make Injune the base for your Carnarvon experience.
